WAITING TO SIGN LOI'S....

SIGNED PROSPECTS....
COMMIT STORY -- https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/rutgers-lands-2023-new-york-quarterback-ajani-sheppard
SCOUTING REPORT: "Sheppard is a true dual-threat quarterback who can hit receivers at all three levels of the defense, all while also extending plays with his feet from time to time. Even when on the move, he manages to keep his eyes down field and has the ability to hit receivers while on the run. Along with that he has legit size, standing at 6-foot-3, 230-pounds and isn't afraid of contact, although his future coaches probably would prefer he slid more often. This was a pretty solid local get for the Scarlet Knights and someone that could develop into a starter down the line for Schiano and crew." -- Richie Schnyderite
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/inside-the-banks-what-rutgers-is-getting-in-jashon-benjamin-
SCOUTING REPORT: "The first thing I notice is that Benjamin will bring great versatility to the offense. Pahokee lines Benjamin up at receiver quite a bit, where he is able to do a variety of things in the passing game. While it seems his primary position will be running back, he has the ability to play as a slot receiver and impact that part of the game out of the backfield too. He also returns kicks, which could be of value in college.
Next, the breakaway speed is apparent. On his highlights he does not get caught from behind, which is something I always look for with skill guys. Once he gets going in the open field, he has that home run hitting ability that you look for in a back.
Pairing with that speed, it appears Benjamin has good vision. He's able to find the hole quickly, hit it, and find green to beat the defense to the end zone. There's not a ton of dancing or being "too cute" when he gets the ball, and the decision making process of where to go once he has the pigskin is quick." -- Alex Gleitman
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/2023-new-york-wr-dylan-braithwaite-commits-to-rutgers-football
SCOUTING REPORT: "Braithwaite is an extremely explosive receiver in the open field who can win 1-on-1 matchups or understand how to beat opposing defense when they are playing zone coverage against him. As a route runner he is run’s fluid routes is able to transition in and out of cuts with ease. His ability to set defenders up at the top of his routes with violent hips and shoulders gives him the necessary separation he needs when running his routes. What impressed me the most with Braithwaite is his field awareness in the open field after the catch. Once the football is in his hands, he is able to hit another gear in the open field giving him the ability to take screen or quick game passes and turn them into huge gains for the offense. He’s a natural pass catcher who is able to maintain good body control when attacking throws outside of his body frame. I would like for him to improve on attacking the football away from his body when running route over the middle since he has a habit to use his body to secure these catches. Overall, Dylan Braithwaite is an effective playmaker who will contribute to the Rutgers offense." -- Anthony Siciliano
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/irvington-wr-famah-toure-commits-continuing-the-family-legacy
SCOUTING REPORT: "Toure is a dynamic playmaker with the football in his hands who displays breakaway speed and wins a good amount of 1-on-1 battles in the open field. On top of that, he also has good vision and field awareness, whether he is in on special teams or on the offensive side of the football in RPO plays and jet sweeps. Toure has shown his explosiveness in getting around the edge to beat edge rushers to the point of attack allowing him to put his foot in the ground to get north up the field. In tight spaces, Toure has the ability to make fluid cuts or use his body frame to maneuver away or through opposing defenders allowing him to get extra yards after contact. I would like to see Toure play with a lower pad level when approaching opposing defenders at the point of attack to absorb more force. Overall, Famah Toure is a great athlete who will help the offense at the next level." -- Anthony Siciliano
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/2023-ath-vilay-nakkoun-jr-details-rutgers-commitment
SCOUTING REPORT: "Nakkoun plays quarterback for his high school program, but will be coming in as a receiver for the Scarlet Knights, very similar to Rashad Rochelle last class. He is just another one of those dynamic athlete types. He's pretty fast and elusive on tape, he is rumored to have run a 4.4, 40yd dash. Doesn't play the best comp in the world down in Orlando, but he is a true athlete and super shifty. Hard to tell what his hands and route running are like due to him playing mostly QB, but whenever he gets the ball in open space, he can be dangerous." -- Richie Schnyderite
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/2023-new-york-ath-deondre-johnson-commits-to-rutgers-football
SCOUTING REPORT: "Johnson sees most production as the X receiver lined up on the outside in using his excellent frame to high point the football. What impressed me the most with Johnson is his ability to maintain body control in adjusting to throws that were outside his catching frame and how he was able to track the football through the air. Johnson’s route running in being able to create separation versus press or soft coverage gives him the ability to get the necessary YAC (yards after the catch). Explosive with the football in his hands being able to take a 5-yard catch into a 30 yard plus catch and run. When running vertical passing routes, he is able to hit another gear to get behind the second level of the defense. I would like to see Johnson be a little more aggressive when running in and out breaking routes since at the collegiate level he will play against bigger and physical defensive backs. Overall, Deondre Johnson is a sneaky get for Rutgers who will be an interesting player for the scarlet knights in the future." -- Anthony Siciliano
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/logan-blake-talks-rutgers-commitment-already-recruiting-others-to-join-him
SCOUTING REPORT: "Rutgers picked up a commitment from 2023 Tight End Logan Blake who plays at Hun School and is from Princeton, New Jersey. Blake’s catch radius and ability to stretch the middle of the field along with his 6-foot-8 and 225-pound frame makes a threat to opposing defensive secondary. What impressed me the most with Blake is he is a natural pass catcher who attacks the football away from his body. He has the advantage to win 50-50 jump balls and should be a threat in the red zone. As a route runner he has some work to improve on in staying lower out of his breaks to be more explosive out of his cuts since at the collegiate level he will play against more fundamentally sound defensive backs. His field awareness to find the soft spots of the defense in off-schedule situations to break off his routes to help his quarterback is what makes him a great security blanket when things break down. Overall, Logan Blake is a foundational piece for the Rutgers tight end group in the future." -- Anthony Siciliano
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/rutgers-football-lands-2023-ohio-ol-dominic-rivera
SCOUTING REPORT: "Another huge offensive lineman, literally and physically, Rivera provides some solid upside. He is still a bit raw in some categories, but looks pretty good in run blocking for his high school program. Add in his athleticism along with his size and Rutgers got a pretty solid piece here towards hopefully fixing their OLine unit." -- Richie Schnyderite
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/new-rutgers-commit-john-stone-talks-pledge-to-the-scarlet-knights
SCOUTING REPORT: "Pretty ferocious offensive lineman, he plays left tackle for his high school program, but he will more than likely end up along the interior at Rutgers. He has that mean streak that I always talk about that you want in offensive linemen. He has a wrestling background, so he has very good hands and he isn't afraid of contact obviously. The one thing he needs to work on a bit is his bend, as he needs to get a little lower in his stance, but overall a very solid get for Rutgers." -- Richie Schnyderite
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/2023-ol-nick-oliveira-commits-to-rutgers-football
SCOUTING REPORT: "One thing that flashes on his tape right away is his athletic ability. He gets off the ball quickly and attacks opposing defensive linemen with power. In addition, is also a smooth mover with a good set of feet. While he wasn't asked to execute a lot of concepts where he had to block in space with things like screens and gap concepts with pullers. There’s enough to extrapolate from his tape, that it could be an area where he can excel at the next level. He has the footspeed, athletic ability, lower body strength, knee bend, and leverage to be a solid pass protect or at the next level. Obviously, he’s going to need A LOT of coaching and work to be where he can be in situations to be a consistent starter at tackle, but I believe within 2- 3 years he will develop into a tackle that will be solid across the board." -- EJ Daniels
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/2023-florida-ol-mozell-williams-commits-to-rutgers-football
SCOUTING REPORT: "Massive size for an offensive linemen, something that Rutgers has grown to love under Schiano 2.0 as Williams is every bit of 6-6, 330 and then some. When you watch his tape you can see that he moves very well for his size and has the frame of a Big Ten offensive linemen. He also has super long arms, which could only help him as a future tackle in the B1G. Look for him to take a couple of years to develop and change his body a bit, but he has some potential." -- Richie Schnyderite
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/2023-in-state-standout-jasir-peterson-recommits-to-rutgers-football
SCOUTING REPORT: "The Scarlet Knights have added their first commitment for the 2023 football recruiting class in Offensive Lineman JaSire Peterson from Union City High School in Union City, New Jersey. Peterson is 6’4” and 270lbs. who plays with great power from the offensive tackle position. When getting to the point of attack at an opposing defender, Peterson does a very nice job of getting into the right position with his footwork and base. From a footwork perspective he is very fluid within his movement and is able to mirror defenders in pass protection when going against edge rushers. He plays with a wide base in both the run/pass blocking allowing him to keep his center of gravity underneath himself, so he is better balanced as a blocker. Peterson moves well when approaching linebackers in the second level and has the necessary patience when engaging with them as the linebackers react to the play. Peterson will only improve from now and until he arrives on the banks. This is good get for Rutgers to start off the 2023 recruiting class has Rutgers continues to lay down the foundation for what’s to come in the near future." -- Anthony Siciliano
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/florida-lb-abram-wright-makes-the-call-commits-to-rutgers-football
SCOUTING REPORT: "Fleming Island plays Wright on the edge and in space a lot but he has good ankle flexion and also plays with a violent streak. He could be the kind of player that develops into an inside linebacker." -- Justin Rowland
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/2023-ath-commit-davoun-fuse-talks-decision-upcoming-visit
SCOUTING REPORT: "Fuse can play both sides of the football because of the athleticism and size that he brings to the table, but I expect him to be on the defensive side of the football as a linebacker. Fuse has a great first step of the line of scrimmage when lined up as an edge rusher to attack the quarterback. He does a nice job of being a fundamentally sound tackler when approaching ball carriers at the point of attack. Fuse has good recognition on when plays are developing towards or away from him in reading the keys of the offensive lineman. This allows him to squeeze inside the gaps to make a play. With his frame at 6’5” I expect him to be used as a nickel defender who can help cover in zone coverage while being a threat in stopping the run. With Fuse committing to one side of the football especially the linebacker position he will only improve his skillset at this position over time. Overall, Davoun Fuse is a nice get for Rutgers with the versatility he brings as a football player." -- Anthony Siciliano
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/the-fl-to-nj-pipeline-continues-as-bo-mascoe-chooses-rutgers-football
SCOUTING REPORT: "Mascoe is a true lockdown cornerback prospect. He has great speed and does a great job of quickly getting out of breaks. Not to mention he has a good nose for the ball and closes out very well too. He also has that Florida speed that can't be taught, as he once posted a 10.97, 100 meter dash time for his high school track team." -- Anthony Siciliano
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/2023-db-ian-strong-talks-rutgers-football-commitment
SCOUTING REPORT: "Strong has good range and the ability to protect the back end of a defense with his range and length. He has shown he can guard the number 1 opposing receiver and be effective as a zone cover corner. As a cover corner in man-on-man situations he does a good job of staying patient and fundamentally sound in eliminating any type of air space for opposing receivers to have when getting into their routes. Strong has good recognition of when route concepts are developing as a zone corner in being able to pass off routes inside when seeing another route concept enter his area that he has to cover. I would like for Strong to play at a lower pad level when helping for run support since at the collegiate level he will be playing against bigger and more powerful running backs in the open field. Overall, Ian Strong presents some nice intangibles at the next level." -- Anthony Siciliano
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/massachusetts-wr-jesse-ofurie-commits-to-rutgers-football
SCOUTING REPORT: "Ofurie tracks the football extremely well through the air and has great playmaking ability to get those extra yards after the catch. With Ofurie you can see that he is a natural pass catcher, attack the football at it's highest point and does a good job of not allowing opposing defenders to even make a play on the ball in contested situations. On top of that, his field awareness after the catch allows him to be elusive and explosive in the open field." -- Anthony Siciliano
COMMIT STORY: https://rutgers.rivals.com/news/nation-s-no-2-ranked-ls-jake-eldridge-commits-to-rutgers-football
SCOUTING REPORT: "Jake crushed it at the Rubio Long Snapping TOP 12 Camp on Jul 12-14, 2022. Super smooth and collected Long Snapper that never stops improving with his snapping. His hands are massive and I don't think he is done growing. Body is changing in an excellent way by the minute and the sky is the limit for Jake." -- Chris Rubio
