Rutgers commits in the postseason

Many of the local New Jersey high school teams finished out their regular season schedule last weekend and now it’s time to take a look at which Rutgers commits made the playoffs.

QB Johnathan Lewis (St. Peter’s Prep - NJ): Lewis finished the season with 1,161 passing yards, seven passing TD’s, and also had 617 rushing yards and 13 rushing TDs. St. Peter’s will take on Delbarton in round one of the playoffs on November 11th at 7pm.

RB Jon Lovett (Cherokee – NJ): Lovett finished the season with 1,144 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns. Cherokee will take on Millville on the road in round 1 of the playoffs on November 11th at 7pm.

WR Bo Melton (Cedar Creek – NJ): Melton finished the year with 220 receiving yards, five receiving TDs, as well as 177 rushing yards and six rushing TD’=s. Cedar Creek will take on Middle Township on November 12th at noon.

WR Everett Wormley (Burlington Township – NJ): Wormley finished the year with 131 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. Burlington Township is set to take on Pemberton on November 11th at 7pm.

WR Shameen Jones (Cardinal Hayes – NY): Jones finished the year with 1,061 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns as well as one interception . Cardinal Hayes is set to take on St. Anthony’s on November 11th at 7pm.

OL Micah Clark (St. John Vianney – NJ): St. John Vianney is set to take on Camden Catholic on November 11th at 7pm.

OL Jamaal Beaty (St. John Vianney – NJ): St. John Vianney is set to take on Camden Catholic on November 11th at 7pm.

OL Samuel Vretman (Cheshire Academy – CT): Cheshire has one more regular season game remaining vs. Worchester Academy.

OL Owen Bowles (Cedar Creek – NJ): Bowles' Cedar Creek squad will take on Middle Township on November 12th at noon.

DE Mike Tverdov (Union – NJ): Tverdov finished the year with 52 tackles, four sacks, and two fumbles forced on the year. Union is scheduled to take on Ridge on November 11th at 7pm.

LB CJ Onyechi (West Orange – NJ): Onyechi finished the year with 84 tackles, 13 TFLs, 10 sacks, and three fumbles caused. West Orange is set to take on Ridgewood on November 11th at 7pm.

LB Tyshon Fogg (Calvert Hall – MD): Calvert Hall’s season is not over as they have two more games left vs. Avalon and Loyola Blakefield.

LB Olakunle Fatukasi (Grand Street – NY): Grand Street is scheduled to play New Dorp in the first round of the playoffs on November 12th at noon.

ATH Naijee Jones (Timber Creek – NJ): Jones finished the year with 34 tackles, one sack, three pass deflections and one interception. Timber Creek is scheduled to take on Absegami on November 11th at 7pm.

ATH Bryce Watts (Toms River North –NJ): Watts finished the year with 681 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns on only 27 catches. Toms River North is scheduled to face off against Atlantic City on November 11th at 7pm.

ATH Tim Barrow (Tottenville – NY): Barrow finished the year with 482 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns on 22 catches. Tottenville is still awaiting its opponent and will be playing again on November 18th at noon.

ATH Edwin Lopez (Woodrow Wilson – NJ): Lopez has a year plagued by injuries but still finished with 119 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns on nine catches. He also had 10 total tackles and one punt returned for a touchdown. Woodrow Wilson is scheduled to face off against Lenape on November 11th at 7pm.

ATH Tyler Hayek (Wayne Hills – NJ): Hayek finished the year with 349 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns on only 21 catches. Wayne Hills is scheduled to face off against Roxbury on November 11th at 7pm.
