Rutgers Football lands 2025 Hillside High School ATH Talibi Kaba

Rutgers Football has landed their second verbal commitment for the 2025 class as they they added a rather local prospect in athlete Talibi Kaba out of Hillside High School just days after he named the Scarlet Knights his leader.

Kaba is listed as a 6-foot-2, 203-pound athlete, who played both running back and linebacker for his high school team. This past season as a junior Kaba ran for 1,117 yards and 12 touchdowns on 95 total carries.

As mentioned above, Kaba named the Scarlet Knights his leader recently following an unofficial visit to campus where he got a chance to hang out with some of the coaching staff.

"I like the visit a lot. I’m just building some trust and connections with the coaching staff. I spent a lot of time with coach Joe (Harasymiak), Drew (Lascari) and Greg (Schiano). I like how I’m actually building a relationship with all of the them. They are my number one."

The New Jersey native is not ranked by Rivals, but should receive one relatively soon as Rivals has a recruiting update coming some time this spring for the class of 2025.

It should be noted that Rutgers is also after Kaba's good friends and teammates and one of the top prospect in one of New Jersey's better recruiting class in defensive end Darren Ikinnagbon. The defensive line prospect also visited campus recently along with several other Hillside High School teammates.

RIVALS REACTION....

The majority of Kaba's tape comes from him playing running back, but his best days might be best suited on the defensive side of the ball. Kaba has a solid frame to work with as he's already a legit 6-2, maybe 6-3 and around 215-pounds or so, with plenty of room to add some more muscle. He also has some solid speed, as he ran a 4.65 laser 40-yard dash at the Rivals Camp last May. Combine those traits with some of the athleticism you see on film below and you get a very good athlete, someone who could see success as a linebacker.
