There were Rutgers commits and targets in action on the high school gridiron last weekend and here is a look at how they fared in our latest Recruit Scoop.

Rutgers Commits

QB Jalen Chatman (Narbonne - CA): Chatman and the Narbonne offense bounced back this week as they came away with a 34-15 win. Chatman went 11-of-17 with two passing touchdowns and an INT. He also had 75 total rushing yards and a rushing touchdown on the day.

QB Sean Chambers (Kerman - CA): Kerman took the lead in the first quarter and didn’t look back, as they went on to win 35-20 over Coalinga (CA). Chambers threw 8-of-17 for 238 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed six times for 34 yards and two rushing scores.

RB Isaiah Pacheco (Vineland - NJ): Vineland kicked off their season with a bang, beating Bridgeton 27-8. Pacheco plays quarterback and completed 11-of-16 pass for 227 yards and one interception. He also ran the ball 18 times for 105 yards and scored two touchdowns.

RB Stevie Scott (Christian Brothers Academy - NY): CBA scored a win this week this time over West Genesee (NY), by a score of 35-16. Scott played sparingly but he managed to have 7 rushes for 95 yards and a score.

WR EJ Turner (Cartersville - GA): It was another big win for Cartersville as it took down Westlake (GA), 38-5. Turner had two receptions for 68 yards and a score on the night.

WR Amad Anderson (Curtis - NY): Anderson did his best to try and hold off a very talented Erasmus Hall team, but it wasn’t enough as Curtis fell by a final of 39-20. Anderson had three receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown.

DE Matthew Thomas (Midwood - NY): Midwood managed to beat Port Richmond (NY), 50-0. Thomas only played the first quarter and was only playing as a TE/OL on offense. He didn’t even get a rep in on defense as the second team took over early.

DB Deion Jennings (Timber Creek - NJ): The Chargers pulled out a tough win as they went on to beat Delsea (NJ), 39-36. Jennings had five receptions for 68 yards and six total tackles on defense to help secure yet another Charger victory.

ATH Travon King (Woodrow Wilson - NJ): In a tough, close game, the Tigers managed to sneak away with a 26-20 win over Highland Regional. King had two big sacks within the last minute of the game to help secure the win.

ATH Kessawn Abraham (Erasmus Hall - NY): Abraham got going early, making a nice reception which he missed a couple of defenders and took it to the house. He finished the night with only that 45 yard TD reception and also had a couple rushes, in addition to assuming his cornerback duties.

Rutgers Targets

RB Aaron Young (Coatesville - PA): The junior finished with two rushing touchdowns on the night, one of them coming on an 84-yard run. Young also used a 30-yard run to set up a 6-yard rush for his second score. Coatesville went on to beat Reading (PA), 48-15.

WR Stanley King (Woodrow Wilson - NJ): It was a relatively quiet night for the other King as the class of 2019 prospect managed to score once on a 29 yard touchdown reception. That TD came early in the first half to help the Tigers start the season 1-0.

TE Henry Pearson (Paramus Catholic - NJ): The Paladins suffered a tough 35-14 loss to DePaul Catholic on Friday night. Pearson tried his best to keep PC in the game, grabbing two receptions on the day for a total of 23 yards.

TE Jairo Ramos (Woodrow Wilson - NJ): Another Wilson prospect that Rutgers is targeting is senior tight end Jairo Ramos, who managed to score a touchdown on a 15-yard reception in Wilson’s victory.
