Yahoo! writer Pete Thammel first revealed that Rutgers will hire John McNulty as its next offensive coordinator. Scarlet Nation has confirmed that this ends what has been almost a month-long search as McNulty will return to Piscataway where he served as the offensive coordinator from 2006-08.

McNulty directed the offense to a wealth of success on Rutgers' offenses that saw Mike Teel surpass 3,000 yards passing and Ray Rice eclipse 2,000 yards rushing in a single season.

McNulty spent this past season as the Lose Angeles Chargers tight ends coach. At Rutgers, McNulty will also coach the quarterbacks.
