The commitments continued over the weekend for Rutgers as the program received another addition. The second prospect from the state of Georgia committed to the class of 2018 this weekend when three-star wide receiver EJ Turner of Cartersville High School offered up his commitment while on campus.

“The coaches pushed me and made me feel at home and I liked the campus,” Turner told Scarlet Nation. “What makes Rutgers stand out to me is the relationship with the staff and their business major is great.”

Turner’s commitment came during a Rutgers weekend barbecue, which brought a host of prospects to Piscataway.

"[Saturday] was fun at Rutgers. I had a great time with Jarrett Paul and we had a pie eating contest with Tyler Friday and a couple other players,” said RU commit Zamir Mickens of St. Peter's Prep. “We had a kick ball game and we took a tour of the campuses.”

One of the visitors has set his final decision date for August 7th as Woodrow Wilson athlete Travon King talked about his latest experience on the RU campus.

"It went well. I met a lot of the commits and they told me a lot about what they like about the campus. There was a lot of different games and events to do and the food was great."

There are also some prospects who were not on campus this weekend but are still very high on Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights have made the top three for running back Jermar Jefferson of Narbonne High School in Los Angeles.

“I like the coaches, the city and the football program and I just like the area itself,” Jefferson said of Rutgers. “I like coach [Lester] Erb a lot because when I was there, he showed me a lot of the running back drills that would work for me in a game.”

There will also be a host of visitors this week and the latest names are available here.

There is no down time for the coaching staff as Chris Ash will make his way to Big Ten Media day this week in Chicago accompanied by senior offensive lineman Dorian Miller, senior defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph and junior cornerback Blessuan Austin.

That will lead into player report day on Friday and then the start of training camp on Saturday.
