July is not turning out to be a slow time for Rutgers recruiting as the program added two more commitments last week, bringing its class of 2018 total to 14 commits. The first commit of the week came when Canisius High (Amherst, N.Y.) wide receiver Paul Woods announced his intentions to become a Scarlet Knight.

““The reason I chose Rutgers is because the relationship I have with the coaches.” Woods said last week. “I also like the environment and how it was presented to me. My favorite thing about Rutgers is the high energy and the competition.”

That commitment was followed up by another one later in the week as punter and Australian native Adam Korsak committed to Rutgers. Korsak will travel to the states and have three years of eligibility remaining when he arrives at RU next summer.

“Rutgers provides amazing opportunities on and off the field," Korsak said. "After receiving multiple offers from schools in the Mountain West, ACC and American conferences, I was honored to be offered by Rutgers and can't wait to play for them in 2018. I intend to be a student athlete with high integrity and standards and represent Rutgers on and off the field to the best of my ability.”

This week, Rutgers will host more prospects as it will have a team BBQ on Saturday and among those in attendance will be Curtis (N.Y.) wide receiver Amad Anderson. For more on the team BBQ and updates on who is expected to attend, be sure to check out The Round Table.

In hoops recruiting news, the Scarlet Knights are in the thick of the race for Gate City (Va.) class of 2018 point guard Mac McClung.

"The entire Rutgers and Georgetown staffs contacts me daily, including the head coaches of both programs,” McClung told Scarlet Nation. . “Rutgers has been telling me how great of a fit I would be and how I would be able to contribute right away. I really like all of the coaches there. I’m not going to carry out the process too much longer so hopefully I’ll decide soon.”

On the wrestling well, things are trending well in regards to the potential Nick Suriano transfer to Rutgers as Scarlet Nation had an exclusive update here.
