Souf Mensah all set for Sunday arrival to Rutgers

The Rutgers men’s basketball team will welcome a new member to campus on Sunday as Souf Mensah will be arriving in Piscataway. Scarlet Nation has learned that Mensah is fully qualified and ready to go for this coming season.

"I can't wait to be there and for it to just feel like home," Mensah told Scarlet Nation today. "It's my new home for the next couple years. I can't wait to meet the guys who already there and start to put the work , the earlier the better."

Mensah spent last season at Marshalltown Community College in Marshalltown, Iowa. He will now have two remaining years of eligibility and will step in and provide immediate help at the point guard position.

"My goal is to do anything possible to win a maximum amount of games," Mensah said. "And obviously keep working on my game take advantage of great coaches and always get better"

Mensah is also planning to help out at both ends of the court and his experience could make him an immediate leader.

"I can bring solidity on defense, just like on offense, and bring what the team needs" Mensah added. "And we can count on my speed to push the ball and find the guys."
