Rutgers Football's season opener against Howard has been moved to Thursday night, August 29th as the Scarlet Knights will be the first Big Ten program to kickoff the 2024 season.
The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network as a part of a Thursday night doubleheader, with Eastern Illinois at Illinois being the late night game.
The Thursday night game will be the Scarlet Knights first since 2014 when they faced off against Washington State in Seattle. It will be the first Thursday night home game for the program since NC Central visited back in 2011.
The other games that have been announced today include Akron, which will be a Noon kickoff on the Big Ten Network. Also the away game at Nebraska and home game against UCLA will be either 12:00pm ET, 3:30pm ET or 4:00pm ET kickoffs.
