Rutgers Football's 2024 defensive back class is starting to take shape as they added their third defensive back of the cycle in Parkview High School standout Antonio White, who committed to the Scarlet Knights today.

"I'm committing Rutgers," White told TKR. "I chose Rutgers because of the people and the coaches, they really made it feel like home. I loved everything about it and you can never forgot about the fans there, I just loved everything."

The commitment of the 6-foot-1, 168-pound safety keeps Rutgers hot on the recruiting trail this month beating out several Auburn, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt. Also White's commitment shouldn't come as a surprise as he really enjoyed his recent official visit to campus.

"The visit was great," said White. "I had a great time there. The highlights for me were going to New York City and also going to the beach. I spoke with all of the coaches while I was on campus."

Now this was a group effort from the Rutgers coaching staff when it came to recruiting White as he hadseveral assistants the program to him.

"I bonded the most with Big Daddy (Matt Walp), coach (Damiere) Shaw and coach Drew (Lascari)," he said. The overall message from them was that I could just come in and be a big asset to the team. Also I loved the way they not only treated me, but how they treated one another. They made me just feel like I was already a part of the team."

Now this past season as a Junior, White played a little bit of both sides of the ball for his high school team as he hauled in three receptions for 73 yards and two touchdowns on offense. While on defense, he finished with 75 total tackles (50 solo), 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one pass deflection and three interceptions.

With White now on board, that brings the CHOP24 recruiting class up to three total defensive back commits as he joins Noah Shaw (ATH/DB) and Dahkari Gilley as the other two. This also brings the class ranking up to No. 17 overall according to the Rivals Team Rankings, just behind USC and ahead of Wisconsin, Nebraska and Arkansas.
