Rutgers Football has added Penn State analyst / Asst. Cornerbacks coach Vic Hall as the program's new safeties coach, taking over the job from Drew Lascari who just left for an opening with the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason.

The Gretna, Virginia, native spent this past season working with Penn State where he worked alongside new Scarlet Knights Co-Defensive Coordinator Robb Smith and helped out as the assistant cornerbacks coach. During his lone season with the program, he helped develop AJ Harris (All-B1G Third Team Media / Coaches) and Jalen Kimber (All-B1G Honorable Mention). Not to mention, he spent the past year working with new Rutgers cornerback transfer Cam Miller, who joined the team this offseason.
Prior to Penn State, Hall spent several years at Ball State working his way up from cornerbacks coach to Pass Game Coordinator and Secondary coach ahead of the 2023 season. During his time there, he developed guys such as current New York Giants cornerback Nic Jones and Detroit Lions safety Loren Strickland. Jones is a former seventh round draft pick and appeared in nine games in 2023 for the Kansas City Chiefs, where he won the Super Bowl. While Strickland was an undrafted free agent and appeared in seven games for the Lions this past year.
He also spent time as the safeties coach at Hampton, cornerbacks coach at Howard, graduate assistant at Western Illinois and spent several years as an assistant at National Collegiate Prep in Washington D.C., which has since closed.
Hall is also a former Four-Star athlete recruit from the Class of 2005, where he was also ranked the No. 2 prospect in the state of Virginia and the No. 10 overall athlete in the nation before signing with Virginia.
During his four years with the program, Hall appeared in 47 games playing mostly defensive back where he finished with 136 total tackles (82 solo), three interceptions and five forced fumbles. He also took snaps at quarterback, wide receiver and was a return specialist, where he went 5-of-9 passing for 77 yards and one touchdown, rushed 37 times for 215 yards and four touchdowns, hauled in 24 receptions for 274 yards and one touchdown and last, but not least he also had 47 kick returns for 363 yards.
Hall spent one season in the NFL on the Chicago Bears and New York Jets practice squads before moving on to the Arena Football League for the next five years. In 2011, Hall won the AFL Defensive Player of the Year, while also setting the single season interception record.
