Recruiting heating up for DT Johnny Bogle

Recruiting is steadily picking up for class of 2018 defensive tackle Johnny Bogle of Nease High School in Ponte Vedra, Fla. He now holds five FBS offers to go along with a host of FCS offers as well.

Bogle, who was born in New Jersey, claimed his lone Power Five offer from Rutgers and remains in contact with the coaching staff.

“I am talking to Coach [Shane] Burnham, the d-line coach. It has been a here and there type thing, but they are still with me,” Bogle said. “They are still taking to me.”

Bogle visited Rutgers for the team’s second junior day in February and has plans to make a return trip.

“I will be back for another visit,” Bogle said. “Right now, I just have to talk to my parents and my family to figure out the right time. I am going to be up there this summer because a lot of my family is in New Jersey and we have a beach house there. I will be up there for sure.”

Since earning a Rutgers offer, Bogle has pulled in others from Colorado State, Southern Miss, Appalachian State and Coastal Carolina.

“Southern Miss is pressing me, they have been on me a lot. They are sending loads of mail. I have been talking to their coach a lot and I will be at their junior day,” Bogle said. “My cousin actually went to Colorado State. I think it’s a huge offer, considering my cousin went there. I have never been out west and I think it would be really cool to check it out.”

There are other programs interested in Bogle as the spring evaluation period figures to be a busy time in his recruitment.

“I have been hearing from UCF a lot, Boston College and I recently started talking to FAU as well,” Bogle said. “A lot of other schools told my coach they are going to offer, so there should be more coming in.”

Bogle also said he has no timeframe for when he expects to make a final decision.
