Penn State decommit Chris Bleich is now a prime Rutgers target

One program’s loss could be another program’s gain now that Plymouth (Pa.) Wyoming Valley offensive tackle Chris Bleich is back on the open market. Yesterday, he decommitted to Penn State and is back on the open market.

"Basically I just wanted to re-open my recruitment and make sure I have the right choice for me," Bleich told Scarlet Nation today.

Bleich has been a recent visitor to Rutgers and has ties to the program as his uncle, John Bleich, was a former Scarlet Knight.

“No return trips planned yet but I do plan on heading back soon,” he said of Rutgers.

Recently, another Big Ten program has jumped into the picture as Bleich visited Nebraska for its spring game after receiving an offer.

"I'm currently hearing the most from Nebraska, Rutgers and Mississippi State," Bleich said. "Once or twice a week, I talk with Coach [AJ] Blazek from Rutgers. We usually have friendly talks and just some jokingly conversations."

Things also seem to be trending well for the Scarlet Knights.

"I hold Rutgers in high regard I like the way they believe in themselves and the determination to bring the program back," Bleich said.
