What Was Said:

Faison is a 6-foot-3, 240-pound prospect from Vance High School in Charlotte and recently received an offer from Rutgers on Wednesday. A relatively new player starting to see his recruitment take off, Faison was honored that the Rutgers staff sent an offer his way.

“It is an honor, but all the training and extra work I put into my craft, I felt like eventually I’d get the rewards,” Faison told Rivals.com. “I heard about the offer through defensive assistant Coach (Colling) Bauer and defensive line Coach (Shane) Burnham.

It has a great tradition from what I hear but I’m still learning about the program.”

Faison plans to make a trip up to Rutgers during Junior Day or possibly another time this spring, hoping to get a better understanding of the program overall and learn more about the academics.

As of right now, Appalachian State is the only school that has offered that Faison has visited, while also making trips to Duke, North Carolina, and Clemson as well; all trips that went very well for him.

Most schools that are recruiting Faison are looking at him to play either outside linebacker or as a pass down defensive end. But no matter where he may be on the field, he knows he can bring an intensity to which ever program.

“I love to play with intensity and passion on every play,” he said. “I love football in general and everything that has to do with it.”

Faison was a key part for the Cougars this season, as Vance finished the season with a 13-2 overall record and a deep run in the North Carolina playoffs.

He finished last season with 70 tackles, 13 sacks, six forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.
