Lee Gordon joins RutgersFan.com

RutgersFan.com, the online source for Rutgers sports news and information on the Rivals.com network, has added Lee Gordon to its staff. Gordon, a sports anchor/reporter at WTEV-WAWS in Jacksonville, Fla., will strengthen the site's connection to the fertile Florida recruiting grounds.
"The addition of Gordon, who is one of the most respected names in Florida sports, is a major step for RutgersFan.com," RutgersFan.com publisher John Otterstedt said. "The site's presence in New Jersey is unmatched on the web, and Gordon will bring the same credibility to the Florida market - where Rutgers is a major player."

Aside from New Jersey, Florida is the primary football recruiting ground for the Scarlet Knights. Two of the team's 2006 recruits - Burnon Anderson and Demarcus Robinson - are from Florida, and six standouts from the state signed with the team in February. Many players that have contributed to the team's rebirth under Greg Schiano, including Ryan Hart and Tres Moses, played their high school football in Florida.
"We believe that Rutgers is on the brink of a breakout season, and we want RutgersFan.com to grow along with the growing fan base," Otterstedt said. "The newer Rutgers fans are more diverse geographically, and having a stronger presence outside the state of New Jersey is important to us. When we decided to branch out and concentrate more of our effort in Florida, we looked for the best - and Lee Gordon certainly fits that description."
Gordon, a graduate of Illinois State University, has been in sports broadcasting since 1997. He currently writes for Rivals.com affiliate Warchant.com, one of the leading fan sites on the web.
