Brown is ready to go

Just like his play on the field, Tim Brown's recuperation skills can be described with one word - fast. When he broke a bone in his hand during training camp, it was originally believed that he would be sidelined until Maryland came to town. Brown diffused that theory, making his return during Rutgers' second contest against Navy. With one more game under his belt, Brown figures to be back at full force in time for Maryland.

"I'm just ready to get out there and get my feet wet. By the Maryland game, I should really be ready to go. The hand's good. It feels better than ever."

Watching the game has never been an easy thing for Brown to do. He talked about how difficult it was to stand on the sidelines.

"I was real anxious to get back on the field. Seeing my fellow teammates out there working hard, I was just ready to get out there and work hard with them. It's what we've been doing all camp."

Over the first three games, Brown was forced to watch Tiquan Underwood and Kenny Britt compile staggering numbers. Even though Brown's playing time was limited in the early going, he was happy to see his counterparts thrive on the field.

"I love to see Kenny and Ty catching balls like that. When I get back in the game, we open the field up even more. It just feels good being on the field with those guys."

Brown had one carry against Navy, but didn't catch his first pass until the second half against Norfolk State.

"After I caught my first pass from Jabu, I knew I was ready to go," said Brown. "It just takes time. Once my timing gets back with Mike Teel, it's going to be great. It's a good thing we have a bye week so I can get my rhythm back will all those type of things. By the time Maryland comes, I'm going to grab a few more passes. You are going to see a corps of receivers that can go grab footballs everywhere on the field."

Brown's return to one hundred percent makes an already potent passing attack even more lethal. His return is also enough to provide defensive coordinators with a game long nightmare, which recurs in the form of different receivers.

"Teams aren't going to know who to cover."
