A closer look at Rutgers class of 2018 Early Enrollees

Rutgers already has five prospects in the class of 2018 scheduled to enroll early and here is a closer look at each of those players.

RB Isaih Pacheco (Vineland - N.J.)

The New Jersey product currently has 45 carries on the season for 616 yards and has been nothing short of dominant. He will arrive at Rutgers as it loses three senior running backs in Josh Hicks, Rob Martin and Gus Edwards. The position really will be wide open this spring and there is no reason to believe that Pacheco cannot start from day one. He has all the talent to be an All-Big Ten back.

QB Jalen Chatman (Narbonne, Calif.)

The California signal-caller recently had a 500-yard passing game and has enjoyed some good moments on the field this season. Rutgers will say farewell to two scholarship quarterbacks in Kyle Bolin and Zach Allen after this season. That leaves just Johnathan Lewis and Gio Rescigno on the roster. Chatman will start off as the No.3 at worst this spring and the early enrollment could really help his chances of moving up the depth chart.

OL Raiqwon O'Neal (Conway, S.C.)

The offensive lineman is very athletic and has the early makings of a Big Ten starting left tackle. O'Neal was a very big get for Rutgers in this class as he held a very reputable list of offers. Getting in early will be a huge help from a physical standpoint as O'neal will be a lot more prepared for the battles of training camp.

WR Amad Anderson (Curtis, N.Y.)

It is no secret that Rutgers needs some help at the wide receiver position as there could be a lot of potential for playing time next season. Anderson brings in a complete skillset and would likely fit right into the offense. Rutgers has made it a priority to recruit receivers in the class of 2017 and 2018 and Anderson could be among the best of that bunch.

P Adam Korsak (Prokick, Australia)

The last time Rutgers rolled the dice on an scholarship punter from Australia, it failed as former Scarlet Knight Tim Gleeson did very little on the banks. Korsak will step in for Ryan Anderson and have some big shoes to fill, although he will not have a whole lot of competition. However, taking a gamble on a punter from another continent is another roll of the dice for Rutgers.
