Top 25 RB Aaron Young flips from Michigan State to sign with Rutgers

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights football program received a surprise commitment today when the programs top running back target, Aaron Young, decided to flip his commitment from Michigan State to Rutgers.

Originally it seemed as though the 5.7, three-star running back was all Michigan State, but the Pennsylvania standout had a last minute change of heart and will now join his brother Avery at Rutgers.

Aaron most recently visited New Jersey for a visit just a little over two weeks ago to come hangout with his brother and some of the other recruits.

“The visit went really well,” said Young. "It was definitely a great experience and it was cool to see my brother again. He’s played a lot this past season and I really liked spending time around the team and it was nice to get to know some of the other recruits.”

Aaron’s older brother, Avery, signed with the Scarlet Knights last offseason and started all but one game this past season for Rutgers after the team lost starting cornerback Bless Austin to a knee injury. Despite some early season struggles, Avery Young still put together a solid season and has shown some signs that he will become a very solid cornerback.
