Rutgers Hoops beats Hofstra, up to 3-0 to start the season

The Rutgers men's basketball team continued their winning ways today as they defeated the Hofstra Pride by a score of 70-56 to start out the season 3-0.

The Scarlet Knights were once again led by Jacob Young who scored 17 points. He also had three assists, two rebounds and two steals on the day.

Along with Young, Rutgers also had Montez Mathis contribute 14 points and Ron Harper Jr chipped in another 15 points to go along with his eight rebounds, four assists and one block.

The Rutgers defense also came to play today, as they held Hofstra to just 21 points in the first half and 56 total points against a team that averaged 76.4 points per game last season. The Scarlet Knights also finished with seven blocks, five of which belong to big man Myles Johnson.
