PLAYERS TO WATCH:

QUARTERBACK BRIAN LEWERKE

THE SKINNY: Senior Quarterback Brian Lewerke has accounted for 2,178 passing yards, and 13 passing touchdowns so far this season. Judging by the tape, Lewerke is definition of a true pro-style quarterback. He’s a rhythm thrower and does a real good job of using his eyes to identify post snap reads. While he doesn’t have elite arm strength, he does have really good accuracy within the intermediate passing game. He also has some sneaky athleticism and isn't afraid to tuck it and run if things breakdown.

LINEBACKER ANTJUAN SIMMONS

THE SKINNY: Antjuan Simmons, junior linebacker who has 36 solo tackles and 1 interception on the year so far. Simmons is one of the more athletic linebackers on the Michigan State defense. He plays sideline to sideline like Joe Bachie, but moves much quicker laterally. Simmons is a vicious hitter at the point of tackle and thrives in the open field. He has been very successful in both defending the run and dropping back into coverage.

MICHIGAN STATE RECORD THIS SEASON: 4-6 (2-5) / Notable wins against Tulsa, Western Michigan and Indiana.

SERIES HISTORY: This will be the 11th ever matchup between the two schools. Michigan State currently leads the series 7-3 and has a winning streak of five.
