Matt Rosso commits to Rutgers, breaks down decision

Rutgers landed another commit today when Pennsbury (Fairless Hills, Pa.) offensive lineman Matt Rosso decided that he would spend his college career as a Scarlet Knight. Scarlet Nation spoke with Rosso just after he made his commitment.

“I am committed to Rutgers and I just really liked the campus, and the big thing was being close to home,” Rosso said.

Rosso earned a Rutgers offer a couple of weeks ago while camping in Piscataway and returned for a visit this past week. He also made a lot of camping stops over the past month.

“I got done taking all of the visits I wanted to go on, so I decided on Rutgers.”

Rosso called head coach Chris Ash to give him the news.

“I talked to Coach Ash,” Rosso said. “He was really happy and I also talked to the rest of the coaches. They are all really excited."

And what is like now that his recruitment is over?

"It feels good to commit. There is a lot less to think about now. It has been a crazy process because I never knew about it. But I am glad I went through it. It was a lot of fun”
