INSTANT RECAP: Seton Hall downs Rutgers, 72-66

Newark, NJ - Rutgers dropped their fourth game in a row on Saturday as Seton Hall gutted out a 72-66 victory in the 70th edition of the Garden State Hardwood Classic. The Scarlet Knights fell behind by nine at the break and were unable to regain the lead at any point in the second half. Peter Kiss and Eugene Omoruyi led the way with 16 and 15 points, respectively.

THE GOOD - REBOUNDING

Rutgers dominated the rebounding battle 52-28. A whopping 25 of those 52 rebounds were offensive.

THE BAD - SHOOTING

The Scarlet Knights shot just 6-29 from deep (20.7%) and 19-50 (38%) inside the arc. Both numbers drastically lowballed their season averages. Freshman Ron Harper Jr. went 1-10 from the field after hitting his first attempt of the game.

GAME BALL - SHAQ DOORSON

Doorson carried the torch on the glass for the Scarlet Knights with 12 rebounds, seven of which came on the offensive end. His efforts helped Rutgers win the second chance points battle 20-9. He also added four points on 2-5 shooting, three steals and two blocks in 24 minutes of action.

UP NEXT: Rutgers will host Columbia at the Rutgers Athletic Center on Saturday Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. The Lions are 3-7 and just days removed from a nine-point loss at Boston College.
