Four-Star Rutgers commit Lathan Sommerville shines at Pangos Camp

Utilizing his monstrous 6-foot-10 240-pound frame to evoke mismatches, knocking down deep jumpers, and scoring proficient around the rim, Class of 2024 Rutgers commit Lathan Sommerville was among the top performers during the 2023 Pangos All-American camp in Las Vegas last week. Sommerville put the ball on the deck comfortably and was able to show his versatility on both ends of the floor, in an event that featured a steady crop of the top, highly coveted national recruits.

Sommeville has a unique blend of power inside, scoring proficiency, and an all around feel for the game that is similar to another jumbo-sized, highly skilled forward in Vernon Carey Jr. and like Carey (who played at Duke alongside Zion Williamson and went on to the NBA route), Sommerville has a feathery touch and an ability to play on the low blocks and out on the perimeter.
