2024 Maryland TE/ATH Matthew Ogunniyi commits to Rutgers Football

Rutgers Football has landed another one as 2024 Charles H. Flowers High School (Md.) athlete Matthew Ogunniyi has committed to the program today via social media.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pound prospect is currently listed as an athlete per the Rivals database, but TKR has confirmed that he will be joining the program as a tight end.

"I chose Rutgers mainly because of the family the culture," Ogunniyi told TKR. "Both of those things really sealed the deal. For me I knew I had to make a decision sooner or later and I just felt Rutgers was the right fit for me."

Now Ogunniyi possesses great size and caught the attention of college coaches during his impressive junior year where he earned first-team all-county. Along with football, he also runs track, posting a 11.12, 100m time, 22.20, 200m time, and a 49.56, 400m time.

In the end, Ogunniyi chose the Scarlet Knights over programs such as Old Dominion, Texas A&M, Toledo, West Virginia and several others.
