Stanford hauls in its top target

The Rivals 250 tight end, currently ranked No. 2 at his position by Rivals.com, announced his verbal commitment to Stanford in a YouTube video.
As Cardinal Sports Report first reported, Schultz was admitted to Stanford earlier this week. 48 hours after getting accepted, Schultz committed.
Schultz's addition is a significant one for Stanford in several respects. First and foremost, along with 2013 tight end commits Greg Taboada, Austin Hooper and Eric Cotton, Schultz's addition will help Stanford replenish what was a severely depleted talent base at the tight end spot. Now, the Cardinal are once again loaded at tight end for the foreseeable future.
Moreoever, Schultz a well-rounded tight end who excels in both run blocking and receiving. He could be the most complete tight end Stanford has had in years.
Schultz committed to Stanford over offers from top programs across the country. His other finalists were Notre Dame and Utah, though he eliminated the Irish earlier this week.
Schultz is the 17th public verbal commitment in Stanford's 2014 recruiting class, which is currently ranked No. 25 in the nation by Rivals.com
