Georgia’s looking back into Bolles

Georgia signed starting fullback Shaun Chapas out of the Bolles School in Jacksonville (FL) in 2006 and they have found another prospect they will pursue out of that program in the class of 2010.

"I picked an offer up from Georgia and Florida the Friday before they played each other and I was excited about that," said Brent Benedict. "I got to go to the game the next day in Jacksonville, so it was pretty exciting."

The Bulldogs and Gators join Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, South Carolina, and Clemson on Benedict's offer list. Clemson was the first program to officially offer the talented junior and they did it on the first day possible.

"Clemson sent me a written offer on September 1 and it was really exhuberating. It showed a lot of hard work is paying off. I think early offers add a little pressure, but it is a game, I do what I do in practice, and I just look at it as a blessing."

The hard work will pay off a lot more for the 6-foot-5, 278 pound offensive lineman. His mailbox has been full for some time now and the offers have just begun.

"I was getting about 20-30 letters a day starting in September, but I am getting more hand-written letters now. I get a lot of hand-written letters from Rutgers, UCLA, Georgia, and Clemson."

Georgia has offered Benedict and he has already gotten to see the campus once, but he will see it once more later this month.

"I wasn't able to make it to the Georgia camp last summer, but I was able to stop by and visit the school," he said. "I was able to look around, see the awesome facilities, and just check out the school."
