Southeastern's Gholston feeling love from Michigan State
DETROIT - Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio has made recruiting the Detroit Public School League a top priority during his first two years as Spartan head coach. And the Spartans will have a major presence in the PSL once again in 2010.
One player that Michigan State has high on their 2010 wish list is Southeastern tight end and defensive end William Gholston. Michigan State tendered Gholston a written scholarship offer on September 1, 2008.
SpartanMag.com was in Detroit to watch Gholston play Detroit Denby last Friday. And Gholston's play on both sides of the football justified Michigan State's early scholarship offer. Gholston has been a force for the Jungaleers in their two conference games. After dropping the first football game of the season to Detroit Catholic Central, Southeastern has outscored Cooley and Denby 93-0.
Gholston has played both linebacker and defensive end for the Jungaleers despite having a broken toe.
