Big WR moves to Iowa

Having a sought after Division I recruit move to the state of Iowa this summer could bode well for the Hawkeyes. They coaching staff has already had this recruit on campus and are keeping a very close eye on him. That player is former Gateway (Colo.) wide receiver Anthony Holmes, who is expected to play at West Des Moines Valley this fall.

This past week, Holmes attended Iowa's camp where he had a chance to meet the coaches and learn more about the Hawkeyes' interest.

"I was really with my position coach, Coach Kennedy, and he was telling me he was looking forward to getting me out there and coming out to their games. He told me he wanted me to be comfortable and not be a stranger. They are looking forward to my senior year."

At 6-foot-6, Holmes has size and totaled 399 receiving yards as a junior. What makes his story more interesting is that he has very little long term football experience.
