SCOOP HD: Glenn Makes the Call

An old wives tale of baseball has been that you can often get a feel for how your season will go by the first batter of the season. Perhaps a comparable for football will be to measure a coach's first recruit to see how a career might go.

For some time Oklahoma's coaching staff was such a constant matter it was tough to even remember who was each coach's first recruit. However, with the changes in the off-season memories can be renewed and on Friday first year defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery reeled his first recruit into Norman.

That player is Irving (Texas) Ranchview defensive tackle Brandon Glenn. The 6-foot-3, 274-pound prospect came to Norman this morning thinking he might commit and not surprisingly it was during time spent with Montgomery in which he pulled the trigger.

"We got there, around 9 a.m. and they showed us around the campus and we were just talking and we had a little silent moment and I told him 'coach I think I'm ready to commit'," Glenn said.
