Sooners New Offer Has OU Connections
While following Lon Kruger's early recruiting chase has had a distinct focus on the class of 2011 that's not to say Oklahoma's new head man isn't looking towards the future and nowhere is that more obvious than in the class of 2013 where several prospects have started to hear from the Sooners in the last 10 days.
One of those prospects that Kruger undoubtedly hopes can be part of the foundation of the 'new look' Sooner program is 2013 small forward Ishamail Wainright. In fact the Raytown (Mo.) Raytown South star received an offer from the Sooners last Friday.
"Yes sir. Interest actually is just starting because they came from UNLV but they were recruiting me to UNLV before making the move. I've talked to coach Kruger and one of his assistants. We talk probably twice a week," Wainright, who holds offers from eight Division I powers, said.
"It's really still a learning process for me. I've been looking him (Kruger) up and trying to see what's going on. I've been watching videos of how he likes to play. I can actually adapt to any style of play. I can run the floor a lot so wherever the coaches feel like. If the coaches feel like we need to run then, 'ok' we can run up and down."
