Playing a PAC 10 opponent is always tough, and even tougher on the road. The
Beavers hadn't won at UCLA since 2000, so no matter how the win happened it
would be a good thing.

The first half was a little shaky, but the Beavers played nearly flawless football
the entire second half, led by quarterback Sean Canfield who finished
the day 16-22 for 222 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Of course
Canfield had help from Quizz and Quan, who
teamed up for a combined 268 of the Beavers 423 yards of offense, but Sammie
Stroughter also had a huge night as well.

The offensive line continued their dominance allowing Canfield ample time to
throw while allowing ZERO sacks. These guys continue to get better which
is a testament to their work ethic and Coach Cavanaugh's
coaching.

There were too many stand-out performances for me to give a game ball this
week. Canfield showed great poise and leadership; Quizz just jumped to the top
of the list for PAC 10 rushing yards by a freshman (and he has four more games
to go…), James had another clutch outing, Strougher made some amazing catches
and had a couple of great returns as well; and the line was phenomenal.

Now, we just need them to play an entire game like they did during the second
half this week against Cal. That shouldn't be too much to ask, should it?
