Bulldogs take businesslike approach

After 17 years in the NFL, Mississippi State head coach Sylvester Croom knows a thing or two about the business of football.

Croom said his Bulldogs are beginning to look more like a team after the businesslike attitude he saw at practice on Tuesday.

"We had good work today," Croom said. "Our tempo was good on both sides of the ball. Our speed was good. The guys concentration level was a lot more businesslike today. We were starting to resemble a football team a little bit more today than we have in the past. I think it was a big step forward."

MSU practiced for two and a half hours in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts under partly cloudy skies in Starkville.

Croom said his squad is continuing to improve daily which is a step in the right direction.

"We've got to get better each day," Croom said. "We can't go backwards. We've still got a ways to go but today was a good day."
