Q&A: Savoy works way up depth chart

Coming out of John Hardin H.S. in Elizabethtown (Ky.), William Savoy's addition to the Louisville roster didn't cause much of a ripple in the recruiting waters. Now, just a year later, the 6-foot-1, 250-pound defensive end has put on 25 pounds of muscle and worked himself near the top of the Cardinals' depth chart on the defensive line. Cardinalsports.com spoke to this walk-on who has surprised people during fall camp...

People have been asking us, "Who is that guy?" a lot this week, talking about you. Tell me a little bit about how you ended up here at Louisville...

"I walked on, and I think God has just put me in this position. You just stick with Him and He'll put you there. I've been working hard in the offseason watching film. I like to watch Elvis Dumervil a lot. He's amazing. But basically God put me in this position. Work hard and listen to Him and He'll do it."
