Fisher: Ponder 'ready to play'


Nothing could dampen Jimbo Fisher's mood Saturday morning.



Not another rainy day, which disrupted Forida State's schedule yet again. Not a slightly lethargic practice, which was somewhat understandable considering it came about 18 hours after a physical full scrimmage. Not even the defense's string of big plays at the end of Saturday morning's workout.



No, Fisher wasn't about to let any of that diminish the satisfaction he took one day earlier from Friday's full scrimmage. For perhaps the first time this spring, he saw an offensive line functioning smoothly; he saw receivers making big play after big play; and he saw sophomore Christian Ponder taking another huge step in his quest to challenge senior Drew Weatherford for the starting job.
