PA athlete visits Vanderbilt
Since the spring, one of the more talked about players from the southeastern Pennsylvania area has been Boyertown offensive lineman Tyler Sands. But just 20 miles away is another emerging Division 1-A prospect from Phoenixville High in Rob Lohr.
The 6-foot-5 228-pound tight end/defensive end prospects runs in the 4.7-4.8 range in the forty and carries a high GPA and 16 college level credits with another year of school to go.
"My core GPA is a 3.71 however I'm not exactly the average high school student," Lohr told VandySports.com over the weekend. "Although I play sports at Phoenixville Area High School, I'm not a student there. I've been homeschooled since the sixth grade and as a junior in high school, I started taking college classes at the local community college. I'm going into my third semester there this fall. I have 16 college credits and should have 34 by the time I graduate. My weighted GPA is probably around a 4.9 out of a 5.0. I just took the SAT and was very disappointed with my score. I got an 1180 but intend to take it again in the early fall as well as the ACT."
