Mackey, Scott County meet challenge

After jumping out to a 16-5 first quarter lead, Scott County and its 6-foot-4
junior guard Bud Mackey, held on for dear life the rest of the night in
a hard fought 73-68 win over the state's #3 team, Mason County. Mackey
finished with 15 points and added four rebounds, four assists and four steals.
The junior had six consecutive points in a key fourth quarter stretch that
helped seal the win.

The game was played in Georgetown, Kentucky in Scott County's home gym.
As expected, 6-foot-6 Darius Miller was the main man for Mason County.
Miller finished with 23 points, hitting 6-14 from the field including 2-7 from
beyond the arc and 9-13 from the free throw line.

Scott County never relinquished the lead but behind Miller's fine play, Mason
County tied it early in the second half and stayed close till the final few
seconds.
