Nation's No. 1 corner takes visit to the Plains
There were some big-time prospects on the Plains Saturday, but none were more highly sought-after than Fairburn, Ga., Creekside five-star defensive back/athlete Eric Berry.
Berry, a 5-foot-11, 194-pounder, is currently rated the No. 1 cornerback in the nation by Rivals.com and the No. 11 overall prospect.
Although he didn't participate in the Tigers' final camp of the summer, Berry did visit with many of the Auburn coaches and toured the campus as well as the facilities.
"It went good, real good," said Berry. "Auburn was too close for me not to go visit, and I was very impressed. I liked it.
"We left our school at 8 o'clock and with the time-change got there at 8 o'clock. We went in and walked around the athletic center, went on a tour of the campus, the academic center and all of that. I went out to the camp for a little bit at the beginning and then went back inside."
