LB White hopes to impress BCS schools

West Chester (Pa.) Westchester Henderson linebacker T.J. White has one verbal offer from a school in the FBS ranks but he's being patient in the hopes of earning BCS offers.

Western Michigan is the only FBS school that has verbally offered White, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound inside linebacker from the Keystone State.

While White is grateful for that offer and will gladly accept it if he feels like that's his best option, he's taking his time.

"I have that one full ride from Western Michigan and if no other offers come in I definitely plan on visiting them," White said.

"Right now I'm just going to let my play speak for itself."

Several schools in BCS leagues are very interested in White.

"I know Duke, Wake Forest, Boston College, South Carolina and Rutgers are looking at me," he said.

"They're going to see how I do and then we'll go from there."

Some of those schools are in a scholarship crunch so it's not clear how realistic an offer from them might be.

White, a recent selection for the Chesapeake Bowl, has his first game on September 2.
