Entire Bulldogs roster unites

Mississippi State caught a break from the summer heat and took advantage of the cooler temperatures to get in their first full roster practice of the fall Thursday evening.

The Bulldogs worked for two hours focusing mainly on working as a cohesive unit with everyone involved.

"The practice setup was a little different than Tuesday too," said head coach Dan Mullen. "It was a little less individual and a little bit more team stuff. We had the whole team out here but we are going to split them up again tomorrow and do a lot of teaching then bring them back together Saturday for more team stuff."

Mullen left the practice fields pleased with the effort his squad gave and is proud of the way his team has worked since the spring.

"I like the energy that we had today at practice," Mullen said. "The one thing that we hope is that when you leave spring and come back out in the fall that you are not starting behind. You want to start at least at the point where you left off in spring or improve. Looking at the way we ran around today we are at least where we left off if not better than where we were in the spring."

One position group that continues to improve is the wide receiving corps. While the numbers are still not where he would like, Mullen likes the maturity that some of his second year wideouts have shown.
