June 11, 2012Boston College is one of the schools taking an early interest in Troy Robinson, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound running back from Washington (D.C.) St. John's.
The Eagles haven't yet offered Robinson but he's claiming an offer from Syracuse, a school that will soon be joining Boston College in the ACC.
"I've got the offer from Syracuse but we haven't talked too much," Robinson said.
Of course, there's a simple reason for that. Contact between college coaches and prospects at Robinson's age is strictly regulated by the NCAA.
"I did call their coach before school let out," he noted.
Syracuse isn't the only school that's aware of what Robinson can do.
"I'm also hearing from Boston College," he said. "They came down to the school in the spring and I've talked to them. They talked to one of our other players, too. They've sent me mail. I think it was the defensive line coach (Al Washington) that was down here."
Robinson was planning to camp at Pitt over the weekend and he's hoping to stir up some interest from the Panthers.
While Syracuse, BC and Pitt are schools that would be high on Robinson's list, he's especially interested in one Big Ten program.
"I like Wisconsin a lot. I like that they run the ball a lot," he concluded.
