Jay Wright reflects on KU

JayhawkSlant.com Now months removed from their impressive National Championship run, the Kansas Jayhawks are preparing for a completely different look for the 2008-09 season. Seven new faces will take the court as most of the key pieces to their 2008 title have moved on. Still, for KU fans, the memory remains as fresh as it was the day after the biggest night in the programs long history. One of KU's victims, Villanova, found out all to well how good the Jayhawks really were, and head coach Jay Wright took some time to reflect on his teams' loss in the NCAA tournament.
Just a few seasons prior to their meeting with Kansas in the Sweet 16, Villanova embarrassed KU in Philadelphia, Penn., in front of a national TV audience. At that time, Kansas was highly ranked and a favorite to reach the Final Four, but the Wildcats, who were a feisty team that enjoyed a great season of their own, just overwhelmed the Jayhawks.
