Castille case review
The arrest of Alabama football standout Simeon Castille has sparked a vast array of media reports around the state, painting varied pictures of exactly what happened involving one of the Southeastern Conference's elite defensive backs in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Castille was released on a $500 bond shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday, and the charge of disorderly conduct was confirmed by BOL later that morning with Tuscaloosa Police public information officer Capt. Greg Kosloff. The incident occurred just after 2 a.m. in the 1300 block of University Blvd.
Castille and Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban have yet to comment, although the first opportunity for a legal response for Castille (or his attorney) will come at his arraignment next Monday morning.
Castille's father, former Alabama All-American Jeremiah Castille, spoke to The Birmingham News, and suggested blame for the incident may be shared.
