UCLA tight ends have tough task
One of the greatest Bruins of all-time, Mackey Award winning tight end Marcedes Lewis has taken his considerable talents to the NFL and now the Bruins are challenged with replacing his production on offense.
To make it even more challenging for the Bruins their fine tight end coach Jon Embree has also moved on to the NFL. Interesting enough, Embree is being replaced by the same coach, who replaced him at Colorado, John Wristen.
Wristen comes to UCLA with an excellent coaching resume. He too, coached a player to the Mackey Award in Daniel Graham, who now makes his living on Sunday with the New England.
Replacing Lewis won't be easy and if spring ball is any indication of what the future may bring then could be position manned by committee.
The Bruins did a great job recruiting the position two classes ago when two out of the three tight ends saw action as true freshmen Ryan Moya (6-2, 245)and Logan Paulsen (6-5, 250).
