Norvell Gets Sooners in With New East Texas Names
With the graduation of defensive tackle Jamarkus McFarland apparently Oklahoma felt they were lacking Lufkin, Texas Panthers on their roster and late last week chose to offer a pair of prospects from the East Texas talent mill.
Those players were 2014 defensive tackle D.J. Williams and 2015 athlete Keke Coutee, who caught the eye of Sooner co-offensive coordinator Jay Norvell during one of his recent sweeps through East Texas.
"About 12:01 (Friday) morning, coach Norvell texted me and told me hey coach we're going to offer Keke and D.J., and we're both solid on them," Lufkin secondary coach, and former class of 2005 Sooner recruit, Alton Dixon said.
