Defense, Huggins carry Rutgers to victory

The magnitude of the game may have been bigger than any Rutgers has played all year, but the Scarlet Knights' winning formula remained the same: run the football effectively, play sound defense and make just enough big plays.

With Jawan Jamison slowed by an ankle injury, sophomore Savon Huggins broke out for 179 yards on 41 carries, both career-highs, the defense pitched a shutout until the final minute and Gary Nova's 71-yard touchdown pass to Mark Harrison in the second quarter was all Rutgers needed to secure a 10-3 victory over Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium.
