No. 2 KU set to battle No. 5 KSU
Never in the last 10 years has the Sunflower Showdown been as heavily anticipated or meant as much to No. 2 ranked Kansas (27-2; 13-1) and No. 5 ranked Kansas State (24-4; 11-3). With a win, the Jayhawks can clinch their sixth straight Big 12 regular season championship outright. More importantly, Bill Self's squad can move one step closer to earning a No. 1 seed. A win by Kansas State would not only spoil senior night for Sherron Collins, but would put an end to KU's 58 game home court winning streak and allow the Wildcats to remain in contention for their first Big 12 regular season championship. For the first time in a long time, both teams have plenty to play for.
